Sncf is France's national state-owned railway company The client required their online booking portal to be overhauled and integrated with an effective e-commerce platform. This called for updating the online booking system to improve performance and usability, reduce website maintenance time and costs by implementing a new CRM and regain a competitive advantage by introducing a clean, intuitive, and secure e-commerce platform.

Both B2C and B2B.

Valtech built and integrated a more effective booking system, CRM and e-commerce platform. Salient features included the creation of a new B2C and B2B self-service ticket shopping and booking, including e-marketing features and an open source Content Management System (CMS) that was easy for non-technical staff to update website content. In addition, there were a couple of other key features such as GDS integration to give users access to competitive train fairs, a booking queue, and a payment gateway and integrated marketing with social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter.

Reduced costs.

The new e-commerce and ticketing system allowed PCI compliance. Call center costs declined because customers found the booking portal much more robust and easier to use and the portal helped increase sales and operations efficiency.
